The Arkansas Education Association Announces Hiring of Renee Johnson as Executive Director

The Arkansas Education Association is pleased to announce the hiring of Renee Johnson as its new Executive Director, effective February 16.

Renee Johnson brings a strong background in leadership, collaboration, and strategic growth, along with a deep commitment to mission-driven work. She joins AEA in this position with extensive experience guiding organizations through periods of growth and change while fostering strong teams and community partnerships. She has been with AEA for seven years serving as a Uniserv Director. Additionally, she is a National Board Certified teacher and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching. She also completed programs for Instructional Specialist and Curriculum Program Administrator through Harding University.

“We are excited to welcome Renee to this position at AEA,” said April Reisma, AEA President. “Her leadership experience, vision, and alignment with our mission make her the right person to lead our organization into its next chapter.”

As Executive Director, Johnson will oversee organizational strategy, operations, and program development, working closely with staff, partners, and stakeholders to advance the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
