FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 21, JANUARY 2012

The new rebate plan includes the following incentives:

  • Membership recruiters will receive $5 for each new member enrolled for the first four members.  Upon enrolling the fifth new member, the recruiter will receive $100.
  • For new members enrolled during January and February, the new professional members will receive a $40 rebate and new ESP members will receive a $20 cash rebate.
  • For new members enrolled during January and February, the local association will receive a $10 rebate for every professional member enrolled and a $5 rebate for every ESP member enrolled.
  • All rebates will be paid within 30 days from confirmation of dues payment.

Delegate Nominations to the Annual AEA Representative Assembly
Doubletree Hotel, Little Rock
November 4-5, 2011

The 2011 AEA Representative Assembly will be held November 4-5, 2011. Please conduct your election of delegates and report the results to the AEA.

For this purpose, we have posted the delegate forms online to be used to certify both delegates and
alternates to this session of the AEA Representative Assembly. We urge you to return the delegate
certification form as soon as possible but postmarked no later than September 23, 2011. Once we
receive your delegate list, we will send AEA-RA delegate packets. Delegates will vote on the 2012-13 proposed budget during the RA.

DELEGATES SHOULD BRING THE PACKET WITH THEM TO THE RA. NO DUPLICATE PACKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP AT REGISTRATION.

Subject:            Election/Selection of ACCPE Council Delegates

The Arkansas Committee for Children and Public Education (ACCPE) Guidelines require the election/selection of delegates in each odd-numbered year.  As you know, the committee is the AEA’s political action committee and will help set the agenda for the Association during the 2012 elections.  Each local association is entitled to one delegate for every seventy-five (75) active and educational support professional members or major fraction thereof.  If your local has less than a major fraction of seventy-five (thirty-eight members), it is clustered with other locals in the county for representation purposes.  Locals may also select or elect a member to serve as an alternate for each delegate.

A new issue of the "Educator," is now available online. This issue contains important information about the upcoming AEA elections.

AEA is now accepting nominations for several positions for statewide races, NEA delegates, AEA Board of Directors, AEA-Retired positions and AEA-Student positions. Nomination forms must be received at the AEA Office of the President no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4.
