AEA Teachers Achieve National Board Certification

This year, 77 members of the Arkansas Education Association have attained National Board Certification, the highest level of certification a teacher can achieve. The certification process is rigorous and takes several years to reach. A total of 289 Arkansas teachers received certification in 2010, bringing the total of national Board Certified teachers in the state to 1,690. Arkansas ranks eighth nationwide in the number of newly certified teachers in 2010, and 15th in the total number of teachers who achieved certification over time.
